Science and innovation

Industrial environment

In today’s fast-paced industrial environment, sustainability, efficiency and innovation are paramount. At LIST, we are driving solutions that address these challenges head-on — whether it’s advancing sustainable materials for manufacturing, enhancing energy systems or pioneering new technologies for a cleaner, smarter future.

LIST - Goodyear: Phase 2, full speed ahead

In 2024, LIST and Goodyear launched the second phase of their strategic partnership, focused on accelerating sustainability and digital transformation in tyre innovation. This next chapter builds on the success of the first phase, tackling three key pillars: developing bio-based and recyclable materials to reduce environmental impact, enhancing tyre sensor systems for real-time performance and safety and leveraging data science to fast-track high-performance virtual tyre models.

Over the next six years, more than 30 collaborative R&D projects are planned, reaffirming the commitment to smarter, more sustainable mobility. Supported by the Luxembourg’s Ministry of the Economy RDI Law and IPBG programme of the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR), this collaboration sets the pace for a cleaner, more connected automotive future.

Energy

Developing cost-effective hydrogen storage solutions

LIST joined the ECOHYDRO project, a Horizon Europe initiative aimed at improving hydrogen storage for the transportation sector.
The project focuses on developing durable, high-pressure tanks for hydrogen transport, in alignment with with the goal of hydrogen contributing 24% of Europe’s energy by 2050. LIST’s role includes innovating the manufacturing process, reducing production costs and enhancing sustainability through recyclable resin systems.

ECOHYDRO is a decisive step toward making hydrogen a viable energy carrier for Europe’s clean mobility future. By combining recyclable materials with an innovative manufacturing process, we aim to store more hydrogen at higher pressures — safely, efficiently and at lower cost. This project wouldn’t be possible without the strength of our European partnership: IMT Nord Europe’s coordination, Arkema’s cutting-edge resins and the commitment of industry leaders like H³ Luxembourg. Together, we are transforming a technical challenge into a concrete contribution to Europe’s innovation agenda — creating sustainable storage solutions that can be deployed at scale across the transport sector.
